Vacum keeps turning off with warning lights
My vacum keeps turning off, the top warning lights come on. The bag with the dots in it and the cord light. I checked the bag which was not close to full. I changed the filter on top, which was not very dirty. When I turn the machine off it restarts then shuts down after about one or two minutes. I'm afaid to burn up the motor. Please advise.

Actually the problem is that you need to change your control valve. The motor has an internal thermostat on it already so the chances of you burning the motor out are very slim. By changing the control valve, you will solve your problem. Very simple and quick fix.
It sounds like your vacuum motor is over heating to the point that the safety feature is engaging so not cause further damage. Take it into a shop to see what is causing it to shut off. You could also try taking it apart and checking for a hiding clog!
Same thing on my epic series 6500SR....I just took off the "hood" and disconnected the little tube that connects to the control valve...problem solved..
in the future I'll have to check the bag manually, I think I can live with that
Just take it to a vacuum shop they can disconnect the bad controll valve and you will be back in business.
