VCR
All of a sudden I can't get the video signal from the VCR side of my Magnavox MDV560VR. This is a combination DVD/CD/VCR. I have it plugged into a NAD T743 which in turn is plugged into a Dynex HDTV. For all these years with the analog TV, the Magnavox worked just fine. But things changed when I went to HDTV. Now I can get only the DVD signal out of the Magnavox. I can't get it to switch over to the video signal from the VCR. I have had the Magnavox plugged into the T743 with both the single-line DVD/VCR Out cable as well as an S-video cable. As I say, that worked well with the analog TV. There was a three-week period during the changeover from analog to digital TV when I didn't use the Magnavox at all. I connected the T743 to the Dynex with component video and audio. I then added component-video cables from the Magnavox to the T743. With progressive-scan, the DVD picture is impressive, but there's no video from the VCR. The T743 plays the VCR's audio just fine. In the old days I had the TV antenna plugged into both the Magnavox and the DTV convertor. Now that the HDTV is here, I have plugged the DTV box into just the Magnavox, and I will use the DTV as my tuner for the Magnavox from here on. I know it's working, because I can hear the audio portion of the television programming through the stereo. Am I missing some software set-up trick? TIA
