Vector Sec says they got low batt signal from my home system
Had two calls two days in a row from vector security;said my home sec system showed on their monitor a low battery signal. I have not had a problem (no alarms,no faults, etc.) and the caller can not tell me where battery problem is or how to resolve.
When we set the alarm, there is no problems indicated. Have two Ademco entry pads and neither show a problem.

Could possibly be a mixup with another account. alarms send signals to a receiver with a 4 digit code that is inputted by the installer. If a technician puts in a new system with your 4 digit code by mistake or typo then the monitoring center thinks it is from you. These mistakes are caught immediately if the technician verifies his signals. put your system on test and verify with your monitoring station your alarm signals. If you keep getting eroneous calls then call your service company to change your account number.
I've been in the security system business for 30 years. If your system is not indicating a trouble condition at home then the most likely cause is Vector mis-programed another customer's system with your account information. In other words your system has been programed with either a 3 or 4 digit identifier number. Whenever Vector receives any signal, trouble or alarm, with your identifier or account number attached, they know it is your residence. Somehow one of their installers has programed your account number by accident into someone else's system. So when their system goes into trouble it is coming up as your account. My suggestion is to contact Vector and have them verify what phone number these signals are originating from. They can do a trace. Once they find out the originating phone number they can contact the other customer and fix the problem. Hope this helps.
Open your alarm cabinet, inside is a battery. Replace it with the same sized battery. it is probably a 12V 7ah battery. You should be able to find one for less than $30 locally.
