Vehicle stalled in water, looking for checklist of how to fix
I have found water inside the air filter and intake manifold. I have all the air filter components disassembled and drying on a table. In the process of removing the intake manifold as well. Looking for a checklist of all the affected components I need to remove and dry. How do I purge any water from the engine? Can I just remove the spark plugs and crank the starter? Will this spin the pistons and push any water out? I do not believe any electronics were damaged, except perhaps the sensor in the air filter. The water level was low, but I think splashing allowed some water into the air filter.

If your car was submerged in water and any of the wires were covered with water, you will have odd electrical problems with the car in the future. The best way to get water out of an engine is change the oil and the filter and don't start it until you do. If you happen to get this car running again, I would trade or sell it ASAP. It will be nothing but trouble if you keep it.
Draining the oil will remove any water from the crankcase. I once saw a guy sink his truck in a large water puddle and water got in the crankcase. If he had changed the oil and filter first before he started the engine, he wouldn't have ruined the engine. YES, Drain the oil before cranking or starting that engine.
Oil drained. A pretty huge amount of water came out before I saw a single drop of oil. Guy at part store advised that I leave the oil filter in, change oil, run it for a while, change oil again and replace oil filter, then run again. I've done the first oil change and the engine starts. I've got it running in idle. It's running very rough, if I press the gas engine stalls, so I'm just letting it run in idle and we'll see if things clear out.
