Hi, If you have a vertical line this behavior is more of a connector problem, the cables that feed signal to your display, It may have either a bad solder point or the cable itself is broken or needs to inserted properly . there's other causes for this to happen including a faulty circuit on your video board and that can sometimes trace back to a faulty power supply. failed components on a video main board or in loose or damaged connector cables are symptoms for an abnormal display as you describe. hope this helps..
