VHS Combo unit Panasonic DMR-ES35V - seemingly entirely non-functional
I suspect the answer is that it's just dead, but here we go anyway. We have had this unit from rather a number of years ago, recorded several vhs to dvd successfully, and then it stopped working entirely. When I power it up it cycles through "Hello, setup, ch 3", but there is no sound from the unit at all - nothing seems to power up or start other than the display. It's thrown the F04 and F06 errors, but I've cleared those. They reproduce any time I try to put in a tape, which the unit doesn't recognize nor do any of the gears engage to intake the tape. The DVD tray is unresponsive to anything either. It feels like none of the actual components is receiving power, but I can't identify anything wrong with the internal connections (I've taken it apart to a point). Anyone have any suggestions?

It is a complex unit made moreso as it is part digital and part analogue. The best advice is to take it to a Panasonic dealer or at least try to obtain a service/repair manual before even thinking about tinkering with it.
