Ok, I purchsed a HP and the fire dogs said my Harddrive from my dell will not fit in the new HP so it was placed in a harddrive enclosure IDE (ATA) hard disk drive HI-SPEED USB 2.0 Motle NHDE35 I can get the HP vista to see it but cant get any of my information off the drive and the instructions just tell how to install it what do I do, I have over 2k photos on it and all my contact information such nas email address in outlook and vista don't use outlook, My email is [email protected] please help

I had a similar problem running a Maxtor 45 gig HD under Vista using the Nexxtech enclosure, It finally worked when I set the Maxtor 45 (in the enclosure) to "master" using the jumper.

I see..well..was the old hard drive running xp by chance?..seems that with the new vista, that each application would need to be upgraded with drivers to pull the old data..another option is to use a data recovery service.
