Vodavi 616 system, I get a motor noise when using intercom on some lines so I replaced with new phones. After some weeks, that extension seems to have the motor noise recur. If I move that actual phone to another extension, that phone will now always have that feedback or motor noise. Is it the phones getting old, or is it the 616 ex ksu unit that is doing it to the actual phones?
It turns out it's the microphone on the phones...(common earlier Vodavi problem) ...if you intercom a phone with a tweeked microphone you will hear the "motoring noise" back....their microphone still works...it's just slightly damaged enough to cause that noise back to you. Find a refurber who will sell you just the microphones and you'll be good to go.It turns out it's the microphone on the phones...(common earlier Vodavi problem) ...if you intercom a phone with a tweeked microphone you will hear the "motoring noise" back....their microphone still works...it's just slightly damaged enough to cause that noise back to you. It's the phones.... I have the same problem, although mine are newer style Vodavi's 9015-71 phones / Infinite DVX system.
It happened right after I did a hard reboot on the system....
Does the sound go away when your speaking into the phone and then come back as soon as you stop speaking? (That's how mine is)
