Check your voicemail box and make sure you have listened to the messsage completely, if you hang up before you listened to the complete message it does not allow the phone to recognize that. After that reset the phone by powering it down and removing the battery and plugging it back in. That should do the trick.
Click on the toolbar on top of the screen and drag it open, click on the vmail icon and delete and click the trash can logo to delete it. you can also click "clear notifications" in the same drop down toolbar.
