Voltage change to 120V
Can I change the 220v plug out with a 120v plug and operate the toaster at 120v? I know it will draw 15 amps instead of the 9 amps on the name plate. We live is the USA and our circuits in the kitchen is 20 amp 120v.

You can change the plug out but I very much doubt that your toaster will even heat. The way toasters work is by a resistance wire that heats up because of the current going through it that causes the wire to heat up. Since the wire that is in your toaster is designed to heat up under 220V drawing 9 amps. SInce you are now supplying only 120V then since I=V/R then in the first instance 9=220/R or 9*R=220 =24.444 Ohms Since in the second instance your V=120 then your Current =4.9 Amps and this will not be enough wattage to heat up the wires.
