Vr-309 starts to clip after 10-15 min
My VR-309 has recently started to distort and clip the audio being output after it warms up, Usually about 10-15 min. Occasionally when adjusting the volume the sound would be overcome with static while the volume was changing. I found a cold solder joint related to this problem and have not had this issue since fixing. The distortion from the volume knob and the eventual warm up distortion sound identical. I am not sure if they are related

This is a case of one or more transistors breaking down when heated. This can be found usually by using freeze spray to cool down one transistor at a time until the problem clears up. You can narrow this down a bit by determining whether this "noise" is effecgted by the volume control or not. Also, does the problem show up faster when the unit plays louder?
