Wanting to upgrade old Mastercook program to meld to new computer
I have an old Mastercook program 5.02 from Sierra copywright 1999. I have successfully been using it on my Dell Windows XP computer. We are currently in the market for a new computer, and I want to make sure that I can transfer all of my cookbook files and program to a new computer. I would gladly update to the newest Mastercook program but don't want to risk losing what I have.
What is the best way to go about this? What type of computer system do you recommend to accept my files, Windows XP or Vista?

I have an older version of Mastercook. I'm not sure of the version, my computer crashed and all my recipes are in there. I have my disk restored, but when I try to open Mastercook, particularly my cookbook it tells me it is not compatible with my version of windows? Any suggestions??? I am not beyond upgrading, but only if I know it is going to get my recipes back.
Please advise,
Thanks,

ValuSoft says that MasterCook 9.0 is only supported in Windows 98-XP. Specifically not Vista compatible. What's wrong with these people? I have Vista and didn't realize until tonight that some of MasterCook doesn't work right. So, buy XP.
