I installed a maxtor hard drive, and they are shipped with a default of cable select. If you have this hard drive you dont need to change the jumpers. You do need to make sure however your original hard drive is also on cable select.
If you dont have a maxtor, alot of manuf. print the jumper settings on the hard drive, if not you might have to find the install instructions on the web for that drive. There is a good listing of Jumper settings at this website if its easier for you than searching the web. http://drivejumper.com/
