Was so proud when my husband brought home the Whirlpool Sport Duet frontloading washer/dryer set! Soon we noticed our white clothes were an ugly, dingy gray! I use "whitest whites" setting. Also use Cheer for front-loading washers. Am very picky about separating loads. WHAT am I doing wrong? Both my husbands' as well as my under garments are not fit for dustrags! My mother would be horrified to think I wore such awful looking garments out of my house! I began replacing them wth the same washing results. Needless to say, it may quickly become an expensive problem as well as perplexing and embarrassing! My dishtowels are also dingy looking. Anyone, please help!

I wouldn't blame it on the washer but did you have the same problem with your previous washer? Are you using the same water source as previously. Do you use a chlorine bleach with it and did you use it before? Is the cheer a liquid or powder. You should us a powder.
I am having the same problem! I have an Amana and over time whites and light colored clothing keep getting dingier and dingier. I use Tide HE powder. I have tried adding more, have tried using less...have tried extra rinse. I have also been doing maintenance on the rubber gasket and "cleaning" loads with just bleach and water once a week and nothing has helped. I just don't think its possible to get clothes really clean in such little water the dirt is not removed just redistributed in the clothing! at this point I am contemplating buying a second top loading machine just for whites because I just cant stand it.
