Washer will not drain on the spin cycle
My washer did not drain. I found the pulley on the motor was destroyed, the belt was failing, and the water pump did not spin freely. Because there was no pulley available, I had to replace the motor (it had a pulley attached), belt, and water pump. When I started the washer, it worked well for a couple of washes. I then found that it would not drain on the spin cycle. The washer drains on all settings (color, whites, etc.) except for the spin cycle all settings. I replaced the timer but this did not eliminate the problem. I have observed a green ground wire in the upper control panel. I have inspected the timer, the circuit board, and other components of the upper control panel. I can not find a connector that it would fit into. All the single wires on the upper control panel have connectors which you push directly into the connector. This wire has a connector that I would describe more as a clip which is at right angles to the wire. I think that I have narrowed this problem down to the high speed reverse motor circuit. Since all other wash and drain cycles work, it is only when the motor goes into high speed reverse does it fail intermittently. I think this problem is most likely in the wiring, or in the motor. I am not sure about the grounding but I don't see how that would only be isolated in the spin cycle. Your thoughts?
