Water drains into air return & onto floor
I'm guessing that this is either excessive water flow OR a drain problem, but I might be wrong. I have run a snake wire down the drain line and it appears clear but the problem won't go away. Also, by turning the setting dial I CAN hear that the unit switching responds to the dial turn, but it's not obvious as to whether the humidistat is working. Any ideas?

Hello, usually this is a sign of a drain problem or the water is entering the humidifier too fast. If the water is not draining at the end of the drain line something is preventing the water from flowing. I would also make sure that there is no heavy mineral buildup on the water panel pad this can cause water to leak out of the humidifier. Lastly check to make sure there is a orifice inside the supply water tubing leaving the solenoid, if not this causes the water to enter the humidifier too fast.
If you can turn off the humidifier with the humidistat the it is working properly.
