Water fills the receptacle about every 2-3 hours. It only had to be emptied once or twice a week before. It's only 3 years old. Filter is clean and unit is set up properly. Any advice? It's a 12000E
Heating & Cooling - Amcor - PLM12000E Portable Air Conditioner
The amount of water that drains into the condensate collection bucket will vary widely based upon the ambient temperature and humidity levels.
If the current temperature and humidity levels are relatively high, then it is not at all unusual to have to drain the receptacle multiple times per day.
This water is being pulled out of the air in the room and is a sign that your unit is working properly.
When the ambient temperature or humidity levels are lower, then a week or more may pass before you have to empty the receptacle.
Unless you live in a climate controlled underground missile bunker, the ambient temperature and humidity levels will vary significantly both from day to day depending on the local weather, and from season to season.
It may just be a little warmer and more humid lately in your area right now and the unit is pulling a lot more of the water out of the air. Or perhaps you altered the settings on the machine slightly and it is just running more often.
In order for the unit's self evaporation funtion to operate correctly, make sure the discharge hose is properly fitted to the window.
