I would allow the machine to dry out thoroughly and then 'paint' a film of cooking oil on the seal. Close the door, then reopen to see if there is now a complete trace of the oil on the mating sealing surface. If not, then the door has been 'tweaked' (bent) so that the seal no longer sits as it should on the mating surface. The latch may also have some adjustment to one of its parts that would allow it to close a little more firmly.
