Water Heater Burner Won't Stay Lit
Reliance Sta-Kleen 805 Power Vent Natural Gas Water Heater
Burner will not stay lit, goes out in 4-5 seconds. Cycles through three times then locks out.
From the troubleshooting guidelines: outlet polarity is not reversed, ambient room temp is not too high, air intake screen is clean, flame arrestor opening is not blocked. Maybe a defective gas valve?
I had problems with the vent pipe in the attic melted and blocked the exhaust. Fixed.
I also replaced the hot surface ignitor.
It still sporadically locks out. Sometimes all day, sometimes just for one cycle.
Should I replace the gas valve? $262!

Have you tryed the pressures switch try jumping it out and see if it lights up
