My older model had cheap plastic type rivets around the window. Of course they broke and water leaked out the window. I took the door apart and put in a new gasket the siliconed the heck out of it! Put dishwasher on a counter or floor and put a nice thick phonebook under neath the opened door for support. Carefully replace window with gasket and a bead of silicone. Put enough weight on top to press it down and seal it. Leave for 24-48 hrs. I've replaced the window 3 times and this fix has lasted 2 years now. total cost about $10 and a little effort. make sure you use heat tolerant silicone.
Don't bother phoning Danby. They customer service dept. is a joke. They just don't care. Don't take my word for it though. just read the comments and reviews from other people and look on Craigslist and see how many people are desperate to sell the "Like New" Danby dishwashers. there's a reason why and make up your own mind. Seriously. Pay more money for a better product. Don't buy DanbyDon't bother phoning Danby. They customer service dept. is a joke. They just don't care. If you don't mind rigging it. I took the door apart, drilled out the little plastic stand-offs on the clear plastic window, and put some cabinet knob screws with flat rubber washers all the way around the window. I took the door apart and basically replaced the plastic standoffs around the window with the knob screws. Once I tightened them all down (kind of a pain in the ****, I think there were about 20+ screws and nuts) with the gasket on the window in place, there were no leaks. I also put some silicone caulk around the outside of the window (for good measure). It looks kind of rigged, but it worked and it only cost me about $10.00 in materials and about 2 hours in time. I'm not sure how long it will last, but it looks pretty sturdy (almost sturdier than it did new).
