We bought a Steibel Eltron DHC-E tankless water heater. A handyman installed it, it worked for about two showers, then the shut off switch tripped. We reset it, and the same thing happened. Could it be a faulty switch, or something else
Sounds like the electrical power to the heater is not up to code for the heavy load this electric heater places on the house, many times the electrical box must be configured for the extra load, if your electrical is overloaded this can cause a fire hazard, i strongly suggest you have a licensed electrician come out and inspect this and verify the system can handle the load of the hot water heater..
sorry but i am sure u have an electrical supply issue, the wiring can't handle the load, so you need to rewire the circuit, u will need at least 100 ampere service at the panel.sorry but i am sure u have an electrical supply issue, the wiring can't handle the load, so you need to rewire the circuit, u will need at least 100 ampere service at the panel.
Hello. It could be several things actually. You bought an excellent product, under full warranty. What you want to be careful of is not voiding the warranty. here is a link to the company site. http://www.stiebel-eltron-usa.com/dhc-e.html The warranty on parts is 3 full years. I recommend that you contact the company, have them put you in touch with a local rep. and have that local rep. trouble shoot and solve your problem. Joe
