I am guessing the tv was not on a surge protector. The internal I/C of the tv may have fried//burnt. You can remove the back cover, look inside at the components. See if any of the capacitors look swelled up or any burn marks on the board itself. If needed, you can purchase a tester and test to find which ones are the faulty components.
One thing you can do is unplug it for a few hours. In the meantime of it being unplugged, press and hold the power button for a 5 full long seconds, then wait a couple minutes more and plug back in and see if it resets itself.

Unfortunently, power surges, failures, etc., are the majority of catastrophic failures that I have experienced, you should have a tech diagnose the failure and estimate the cost of repairs, then it will be up to you to decide whether or not it is worth the investment to repair or replace, it seems my experience is approx.$250-$450 for similar situations and symptoms. I recommend unplugging the power cord from the wall outlet on your tv and call your servicer to see what they recommend. Good Luck !

I still feel the same about the solution.
