We have a Princeton LCD1711 monitor. While it is not brand new, it's not that old either. All of the sudden it the screen started getting darker and darker and now you can hardly see anything on the screen. I've adjusted the brightness to the highest setting, nothing. Rebooted the computer. Took plugs and wires out, put them back in, rebooted, nothing. The green light is on and you can barely see the desktop

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series. Please leave rating if it helps.
The monitor has a bad inverter board problem that drives the back lights behind the screen, the only way to fix this is replace the part, or attempt a repair on the board, but if the work is done by a professional it may not be a cost effective to repair the unit, probably cheaper to replace.
