We have a RF268 that isn’t making ice in the top ice maker and makes noise like the motor isn’t connecting. We have changed the filter and shut it off for 6 hours

Should be a metal arm going from front to back of make. Flip this arm up. Then use a hair dryer to remove any current cubes. Then remove the plastic cover of the front of the maker (generally faces u when u open the door). Inspect the gears, if u see they r stripped then u need a new maker. If not stripped then flip the metal arm back down and turn the gear by hand until u hear the tray fill with water. This should also reposition the poppers.
