We installed White Rodgers 1F81-261 thermostat and Bryant Plus 80T furnace about 2 yrs ago. They worked fine, until now. We tried to set the thermostat to 70F when the room is ~66F. The thermostat would go to stage 1 on the display for a few second, and then it would stop and the temperature display would disappear. Then after a few seconds, it seems that it is trying again, since a click is heard. In between the clicking, the furnace is powered up and sends hot air for a few seconds, and then unheated air

Does the display seem a little dim? If so replace the batteries. Anything else may be a furnace issue not the thermostat. Look at the furnace and see if you can view any error codes on the circuit board
