We rebuil the engine and dont remember which side the alternator and the power steering pump go so i would like a diagram of the engine how they mount up on the 1977 jeep cj 5 amc 304
Install the pump. Always use a new gasket coated with sealer. Torque the pump-to-timing case bolts to 48 inch lbs. and the pump-to-block bolts to 25 ft. lbs.
Install the front half of the power steering bracket to the water pump mounting stud. Torque the power steering pulley nut to 60 ft. lbs.
Install the upper screw from the inner air pump support bracket, and tighten the lower bolt.
If so equipped, install the nuts that attach the power steering pump to the rear half of the pump bracket.
Install the two bolts that attach the front half to the rear half of the bracket.
Install the alternator and bracket.
If the vehicle is equipped with A/C install a double nut on the compressor bracket-to-water pump stud and install the stud.
Install the fan and hub.
Install the shroud.
Adjust all drive belts.
Connect all hoses at the pump.
Fill the cooling system.

Power steering..... REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
If the power steering pump has to be removed to service another component, it is not necessary to remove the hoses from the pump. Just disconnect the mounting fixtures and lift the pump away from the engine and lay it out of the way. The only time the power steering hoses have to be removed from the pump is when the pump has to be removed from the vehicle for service or replacement.
Remove the pump drive belt tension adjusting bolt. Disconnect the belt from the pump.
Disconnect the return and pressure hoses from the pump. Cover the hose connector and union on the pump and open ends of the hoses to avoid the entrance of dirt.
On the 8-304, remove the front bracket from the engine.
Remove the two nuts which secure the rear of the pump to the bracket, and the two bolts which secure the front of the pump to the bracket and remove the pump.
To install, position the pump in the bracket and install the rear attaching screws. On the 8-304, install the front bracket.
Connect the hydraulic hoses.
Adjust the drive belt tension.
Fill the pump reservoir to the correct level.
Start the engine and wait for at least three minutes before turning the steering wheel. Check the lever frequently during this time.
Slowly turn the steering wheel through its entire range a few times with the engine running. Recheck the level and inspect for possible leaks.
If air becomes trapped in the fluid, the pump may become noisy until all of the air is out. This may take some time since trapped air does not bleed out rapidly.
Mounts with 4 bolts that cannot be mounted incorrectly. The pump will only go on one direction.
