We replaced our hot water tank a month ago and now we have a rotten egg smell and black junk coming out of our taps. Looks like black sand and now the water is looking grey, this problem seems to be only with the hot water. This is a GSW gas hot water tank

Water pressure is blowing everyting loose with new heater,give your system a good flush,it will work it self out. RichieRich
Whenever you replace faucets, heaters, sections of pipe etc.and disrupt the system it breaks everything loose.Turn heater to vacation setting if your worried about using gas with flame running.Open all faucets and flush good 5-10 minutes should take care off especially if you have galvanized piping,remove aireators from ends of faucets because they will plug screen inside
