We replaced the batteries in the APC Matrix 5000 Smartcell but the light still says "bad battery". The microprocessor chip has been reset by jumpering # 17 and # 20 ,which usually works to reset "bad battery" but not this time. The battery monitor board was moved to another pack and the problem moved with it. Can we still buy these boards? We bought several 4 years ago from Pro Source for $80.00 each. In an unrelated problem the Estimated run time stays at zero even with new batteries and passing battery tests and battery calibration test. The book indicates the battery calibration test would be used until run down the batteries 25% to check calibration but they didn't seem to. Any advice and a lead on circuit board source would be much appreciated

Hello there, I just spoke to my contact at APC and they have informed me that they do still stock the parts for the Matrix 5000 Smartcell Arrays including that monitor board. Since I didn't have your exact model number (there are a few variations on the Matrix 5000) they couldn't tell me exactly availability, but they assured me that no matter what it can be found or made for you. APC is amazing at supporting their devices.
Please give them a call at 1-800-800-4272 or 401-789-5735 if you want non-toll free, apparently there is an option for EAS which is the department that deals with Matrix arrays. If you can't find this option on the phone system just go to Option 5 off the main menu, and then option 3. From there they will ask for your exact model number (off the back or bottom of the unit, so have that ready). Then they will be able to send you to the right department and get the part, or find a reseller that has the part in stock for you.
This should definitely take care of your needs.
Oh yes, also, if they can't find a replacement board right away for some reason they can repair your existing boards. Like I said, APC is amazing at taking care of their products and customers.
