The number one piston is the farthest forward, always on any engine. It has to be at TDC on the comp stroke, which will also be where the mark is, it is just a dot on the crank pulley aligning to a dot or a v on the case. The cams need to be on the marks too, take out the plugs so you can turn the engine easily by hand. Do not let the valves interfere with the cams, make sure they stay free. If the belt is off which I assume it is, or will be, turn the engine over with the belt on, So you will only have to watch one side. It is a tight fit. I hope you didn't damage anything when it jumped. Check it out. In case you did, I have a set of j25? heads here.
