We took cover off timing belt and removed the big cog on the top but we were sure that it went back on in the same place....now the car wont start...all it does is turn over

Yes, some control card is software (firmware) backup baterry sensitive, what u have is a control card with no software inside, so you must have the necessary sotware tools for uploading the software( firmware), do have before a firmware backup? well you need contact cisco to help you config.
