We use a mackie dfx 12 mixer and 2 mackie srm450 active speakers for a band situation the mics are sure sm58s we have to keep the levels of each cannel mixers quite high what are we doing wrong

Does the VU-meter (green/yellow/red strips of LEDs) on the mixer go all the way to the top when you adjust gain and slider level? If yes, try boosting up the active speakers by adjusting the small volume button at the back of the speakers. Also, make sure the equalizer (on the mixer) is set at 0 (the middle) for every slider (And not at -12). The 'voice cancellation' and 'break swich' should also both be unpressed.
