Weater went low and now I cant see to prime it. There is water in the trap by the pump but It is not pulling water thru to filter. power is on but eventually the pump auto shuts down when the water does come through

Shaft seal may be bad. if you have starved your pump for water or ran it dry it will make the shaft seal over heat and let it **** air, you will see a wet spot under the pump.. you must prime the pump every time you do repairs to it ! if you don't , it will SMOKE the shaft seal.
Need to bleed air out of pump look for bleeder screw at top of pump -motor is probably going off on overload[getting to hot]
