Webroot password does not work
I am so frustrated I would just like my money back but I can't even email webroot - their address is undeliverable. A screen pops up when I start my computer wanting my password (And doesn't even identify who is asking!). By saying I forgot it, Webroot answers with a temporary and says to "change it immediately". HOW? I've tried all afternoon. The problem has been going on since I re-subscribed. Please don't offer me a pay-for answer. I am out of work and broke. Spent my last dime on Webroot.
Computers & Internet - Webroot - Spy Sweeper (spysweeper) for PC

You can try using system restore and restoring your computer back to before you installed spy sweeper, you go to start menu > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore. this will leave your computer as if you never installed webroot. i know system restore works well with windows vista, but i personally have not had good luck with windows xp. but if it works, you can try it and then reinstall webroot, and maybe not install any thing that might ask for your password (i think anti spam asks for it). either that, or delete any traces of it by putting it in safemode (hit f8 before windows starts to load and it will show options, one being safemode, or hold the power button for five seconds to shut it off wrong, and it will give you the option next time you turn it on) and deleting any traces of it, which would be, go to start>my computer>>drive c>progam files>webroot(delete webroot folder) then go to start>control panel>folder options(maybe under appearance and personalization) and showing all hidden folders, then going back to drive c>program data>deleting any webroot or spysweeper folder, then going to start menu>run(start search in windows vista) and typing msconfig, then going to the startup tab and unchecking all things that have to do with webroot spysweeper. then ok and a box will popup, click on the box that says dont show again, and click exit without restarting. then restart your computer and hopefully it solves the problem. when loggin in, it will show another box, just put dont show again and ok. hopefully one of these things works. goodluck
The only safe way to recover from a lost password is to uninstall and reinstall the Webroot software. First, turn it off by clicking on its icon next to the time on the right side of your task bar and choosing 'shutdown'.
Then, remove it via add/remove programs.
Finally, after restarting, reinstall the program.
All other recovery methods are unreliable and could destabilize your computer.
I hope this helps.
