Well the clear line coming from the left side of tank ,by the pull start became brittle and came off from the fitting on tank where dose the other end of the line go
These fuel lines routinely get brittle and break. They are made to flex but due to their location, they get hot and don't flex quite so easily after awhile.
In answer to your question, these lines (there should be 2 of them) go to the carburetor and return to the fuel tank. (The carb has 2 ports to attach these lines-one comes FROM the fuel tank, the other sends unused fuel BACK TO the fuel tank)
One is the supply line, the other is the return/overfow line.
Disassembly of the chainsaw cover can be a little frustrating, but that's the only way to fix it correctly.
