Western digital 2tb my passport keeps flashing; not detected
When i plug in the hard drive the light on it immediately starts blinking (and keeps blinking), and the hard drive spins (just like how it should). however, it's not being detected. i got this problem when i unplugged it when my computer was shutting down - the computer was in the shutting down process for over 10 minutes so i unplugged the hard drive, then it shut down.

Remove the drive from the external case it is in and connect directly to your computer - see if the bios recognizes it. If so, the OS will do so also and you can access it. Also means the electronics of the external case are no good. If not recognized in other machine, the hard drive has gone to hard drive heaven and needs to be replaced.
