The cable modem should be giving the netopia an ip address go inside the netopia by opening Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.254 a little window will pop open the username is admin, the password is the serial number on the bottom of the netopia once in, click on configure, lan, then wireless at the bottom make sure the wireless box is checked name your network (SSID its called) like randy578 then click advanced if you want to enable wireless security encryption, your key to get online securely click submit underneath it clike the yellow triangle up at the top right click save and restart in like 2-3 minutes, click the wireless connection icon by your clock connect to randy578 network you should now be online spin .
