This Van has set for about 20 yrs. but I have it running & was wondeing if there is anything I can do to keep the seals from leaking, someone told me to put transmission fluid in it during an oil change & run it for about 100 miles. Does anyone know what is best?

Only solution is to replace the oil seals
SPECIFICALLY WHICH SEALS?
There are alot of products on the market that claim to stop leak.
Don't waste your money. Replace the seals that is the best solution.
I've tried many with no good results, only prolongs the problem.
Thank You, that's what I will do.
Absolutely not. Transmission fluid is a high detergent fluid. Your seals are dry rotted and need replaced.
Just a note. Transmission fluid in the engine is to clean the engine. about 1/2 quart and run the engine for about 30 minutes. This will clean the engine that had regular oil changes. It will not clean out sludge.
ok, thank you
