What could b wrong wth the gearbox on Audi A4 2.7 quattro if the gears doesn't select nicely and it doesn't reach top gear and sometimes it goes out of gear and it doesn't select smoothly when out in reverse even if u press brakes hard as i should?
Automatic I'm assuming? Gearbox selector switch at a guess. Called the F127 switch, it usually sits on the left side of the gearbox above the front drive shaft. It is responsible for selecting the correct gear setting in the gearbox.
Potentially also the MAF. Engine load is transmitted to the gearbox computer using MAF data.
