What could be causing it to not start?
Over the weekend our 2002 Chevy Trailblazer decided to give us trouble. It started with a crack in the top of the radiator. With that patched it started but ran really rough tried to limp it home didn't make it. Black smoke came out the tail pipe and the darn thing died. Pulled over and tried to let it sit still no luck. Had it towed home and replaced the radiator charged the battery and still nothing. We have checked all of the fuses and fluids and battery levels even changed all 6 sparkplugs. Cleaned the air intake and removed the gunk from the plastic vortec box on top of the motor. Oh yeah and kicking the tire didn't help either. I am running out patience very quickly not to mention funds too.

Black smoke indicates a fuel rich mixture and in all probability you are fuel flooding your engine. The black vortec box on top of your engine should not have had "gunk" in it. Possibility is that your air filter is completely plugged up. If you overheated when you blew your radiator you might have damaged your injectors . If it does not start, pull one of your spark plugs. If it's wet the engine is getting far too much fuel. Best bet is to have a mechanic have a quick look at it.
Have you tried starting it with a jump?
Tried it with a jump still nothing...now it sparks under the hood now and again
