What does is mean when black flickering lines from top to bottom of screen appear when i first turn my samsung 50' model un50f5500 HD plasma tv on but goes away after a few minutes

It sounds like either your main board or logic board is going out.
You might want to check the capacitors on your power supply also. If they are swollen they will need to be replaced. Swollen caps can cause video distortion until they build up a good charge. Good luck to you.
