Tray one is usually set up as a multi-use tray. It provide a straighter paper path through the printer and is ideal for printing on thicker paper such as card stock, labels or transparencies. Tray 2 is for standard paper. The printer will usually default to tray one when paper is loaded. If not you can select it after you hit print, properties and select tray.
