Maximum Ram upgrades depends on the motherboard that you are using some mother boards supports upto 4GB some up to 8GB or 16GB. However you need to keep in mind that it also depends on the Operating system that you are using Windows 32bit Operating System only reads upto 3GB even if your using 16GB of RAM unlin Windows 64bit they can read all the RAM on your system. So you need to check the model of your motherboard if you want to upgrade and the the Operating system that you are using. If you already know the model of your motherboard you can send a comment on this question so that i can give you the specification or you can check the motherboards website.
You can check the version of your Operating System by Right Clicking on My Computer or Computer the hit Properties. If it tells you that it is 64bit well its 64bit if not then its only 32bit.
