I can't say thanks enough for the response. See I'm sitting at 14.12-14.14 at idle with nothing on. Reason I'm asking is because I had to replace a battery after less than a year. It was under warranty so it was free, but mechanic said something else caused it to die. He said under load it didn't get up to voltage fast enough. It gets up to 13.87 within a second or so. You can feel the car kinda bog down slightly when I turn on the ac but my idle is still good. I appreciate all and any advice you can give me. Seems to bog down even with just the fan blowing heat. Yes Rick, 13.8 V is normal under full load. Measure at the terminals again when the car is not running. Voltage should be between 12.0 to 13.3 V. Any reading lower than 12, your battery is bad, and will eventually kill the alternator. Good Luck! JP
