It is normal for brakes to get hot, very hot. If they are literally burning the brake pads, then you DO have a problem. There is a small hole in the master cylinder, it's called a compensating port. It allows brake fluid under pressure to leave the lines and return to the master cylinder. I would take my car to a good shop and have it looked at! Most places will check the brakes for free. Brake problems are VERY serious, overheating can cause failure, and bad things happen when brakes fail! Lol! Drive it to the mechanic of your choice and let him see the car when you think they are hot, a quick look and they can tell you if you have a problem or not.
Thank you for your reply, sorry to bother you again, but could you tell me I more thing? I took my vue to a shop, they said the front brake lines were collapsed, the charged me parts and labor to replace 2 front brake lines for $280.00- I drive a couple miles and my front wheels (rotors) are firery hot still. My boyfriend thinks I need replaced whatever wasn't working that caused my 2 front brake lines to collaspe in the first place, do you know what might be causing the brake lines to collaspe, if so, please write back, thank you very much for any advise!!!Thank you for your reply, sorry to bother you again, but could you tell me I more thing? It's clear that the calipers are not releasing after you take your foot off the pedal. You need to figure out if the problem is the calipers or your hydraulic system. The other answer you got, advising you to clean and grease the caliper bolts and slides is a good start. If the calipers move freely on the slides, they are o.k. You can check this simply. Lift the front wheels off the ground, both must be off the ground, have a friend press and release the brakes, then try to spin the wheel by hand. It should spin freely. If you do all this and they still do not release properly, then the problem is in your hydraulic system. Either the compensating port in the master cylinder is clogged, or your metering proportioning valve is faulty. I would return it to the shop that replaced the lines, and give them another chance to correctly diagnose the vehicle. Remember that the brake lines were probably bad, so don't be too angry at the shop. Problems like yours can be hard to pin down. Good luck, hope this helps! It's clear that the calipers are not releasing after you take your foot off the pedal. You need to figure out if the problem is the calipers or your hydraulic system.
