What should I do to fix fuel sensor on 2006 Nissan Altima S?
I have a 2006 Nissan Altima S and the full gauge usually stays stuck on full until the tank drops below a quarter of a tank. It'll then drop down to what seems to be the right level. I replaced the whole fuel pump and it still isn't working. Not sure where to check the ground wiring.

Seems like the float assembly is sticking, and if that is whats causing it, to resolve the issue you will have to replace the entire sending unit.
Replacing the fuel pump just gets the fuel flowing to the injectors and then to the engine, but won't help resolve the sticky float assembly issue.
After the issue is resolved, keep in mind to always keep the tank at minimum half full, ( best to have full tank as much as possible ) don't let the fuel run low and keep it that way as much as possible, or the float will sooner or later be an issue again.
Both the labor and Parts will be expensive.
Its simply easier to keep the gas as full as possible at all times.
Hope this helps.
