What type of pipe is needed on the inflow of the teledyne laars?
I have a teledyne laars esg series 2 and the pipe right BEFORE the laars has 2 pin hole leaks and needs to be replaced... can the input pipe be made of anything or does it need to be something specific? right now I believe its copper... I know the out put needs to be able to take hot water but my neighbor has plastic going INTO and has worked fine for many years... thanks in advance

Most pool stores carry a set of two pipes used for older heaters. They are about 17" long, stainless steel, and bend 90 degrees about 8" from one end. They are usually refered to as heat sinks. The fact that the old one has pin holes in it would lead me to believe using PVC would be a bad idea.
