What type thread do I use for a blindstitch machine?
Can you use the serger thread, regular polyester/cotton as used for garments. Is there a magic number thread?

The short answer is: You can use any type of thread that is suitable for the garment. Regular sewing thread, serger thread, etc.
Longer answer: Some like to use monofilament thread because it is clear and goes with any color, but it is hard on the machine and can actually wear grooves in the thread guides.
I really like to use Gutermann Hemshire U151. It is a fine polyester thread that is very flexible and works great in a blindstitch. I order it from Atlanta Thread and Supply (www.atlantathread.com). Their prices are reasonable and they ship quickly.
