What's the best hard drive to use with an older Gigabyte GA-7VA (rev.1) board... I have recieved 2 many different answers that contradict each other from multiple stores and people that I don't believe really know. I only want to do this once for this older unit so I want to make it count. It will have the 3GB ddr, Anthlon XP 2600+ Barton, ATI Radeon 9200se, Now I just want to max it's cap. with the right drive. Please help. Thanx in advance

Currently the Western Digital VelociRaptor is the fastest SATA 3.0 hard drive on the market. They are only available in 150GB and 300GB. I recommend www.newegg.com and ship Fed Ex (UPS drops things)
The only way to make them faster is to use RAID0 which is not worth the risk because if one disk fails you lose everything. Any other form of RAID would actually be slower than a single disk. (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID)
However, using multiple disks and assigning each a task will also improve performance. For example, install Windows on one disk and install all of your programs and target="_blank">www.tomshardware.com
