I would see if you can uninstall the driver from Device Manager. If that's unsuccessful a restore point might be optional from that time it did work correctly. One other thing is to make sure you use the correct USB cable, I used other cables that did not come with the USB Hard drive and don't supply enough power to the drive. This can cause the drive not to come online or generate strange errors.
