When i accelerate fast under load, the engine bogs down very bad, and it surges, with no power. if i very very slowly accelerate it speeds up kinda ok. but sudden punch on the gas pedal, it wants to d
FYI, engine and transmigration was totally rebuilt, and has about 2000+ miles on it. i install the 1406 edelbroke carb with aluminium performance intake. pretty much """everything""" is brand NEW on this engine. Everything was working great with no bogging down or anything. I ene took it out of town 250 miles away(500+ round trip), and it worked GREAT. However, the Van sits around alot and does not get used much(except for here and there to keep the fuel fresh all the time), but i do start it once every couple of weeks or/and i do drive it around so and have fresh in the crab and get the oil moving in the engine as often as possible. I also replaced the fuel filter just in case that was bad or dirty(it was very clean and good). I also replace the distributor(which was new from autozone, with lifetime warranty), just in-case it was not advancing or faulty. in addition, i checked the timing to make sure is not off, and its currently set at 8 degree before TDC. I rented the fuel pressure tester at autozone and it was tested at "10" PSI. And its still doing the same-thing, bogging down under fast acceleration. (IT DOES NOT PICK UP AND GO, like it was just few weeks ago). Not sure why suddenly this is happening, without any changes or anything. Everything was working great without any issues. it even idols good and accelerate in park, kinda ok. this problem is under load, (my neighbor hood streets). everything i've checked so far, seems to be ok and working fine, from what i see. Even all the vacuum hoses, spark wires, distributor and rotor, spark plugs,...... are ALL NEW and tested OK. I'm Not sure what else could be at this point. My guess, is something in the Edelbrok carb, might be not functioning properly(why was it working just few weeks ago ok then???). PLEASE HELP, not sure what else to check.

Page 34 of this PDF manual has a trouble shooter guide - best to print 34 and 35 in order to have the side by side - several things showing to check - Check for air leaks. Make sure carburetor and manifold gaskets seal properly. All outlets must be plugged or connected. - Too lean. See Tuning Procedure. - Too rich. See Tuning Procedure - (basically, air leak, too lean, or too rich).
